Phase 1 - Norwood Road / Rosendale Road junction

We are proposing these additional improvements on Norwood Road / Rosendale Road junction: 

• New give way signage on Rosendale Road (approaching Norwood Road) 

• New “parallel crossing” sign next to Brockwell park fence warning motorists turning left from Rosendale Road onto Norwood Road on the parallel zebra crossing  

• Resurface the Norwood Road parallel zebra crossing with light grey anti-skid surfacing to increase visibility of the crossing 

• Refresh the white lines demarcating the crossing 

We are proposing a further improvement on Norwood Road (between Croxted Road and Brockwell Park Gardens) : 

• Remove the centre line to slow traffic approaching the crossing (TfL research and several trials have shown that removing centre lines reduces vehicle speeds, by creating an element of ambiguity that encourages motorists to drive with caution. 

• New traffic wands along the existing cycle lanes on the south side of Norwood Road (including a 'splitter island' on the corner), providing protection for people cycling.
